Business Analyst/ Tester
Apex Systems is hiring for a Business Analyst/Tester! This position is 100% remote (must be able to work CST hours).
Location: 100% Remote
Contract Duration: Long-term rolling
Schedule: M-F, Core Business Hours (8-hour shifts + a lunch break; Must be able to work CST hours)
Pay Rate: $35.00/hour
Agency is seeking a Business Analyst/Tester who can provide functional and technical in-depth analysis and testing for a large- scale IT system. The selected candidate will work under deadlines, must be capable of handling a large workload, must be flexible and capable of multi-tasking, be able to effectively prioritize tasks, and be able to work independently with only general direction. The selected candidate should have experience in Microsoft Products (including, but not limited to, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
Experience with Business Analysis skills including, Knowledge of the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Team Foundation Server (TFS), User Experience/User Interface testing and User Acceptance Testing, and Microsoft SQL Server is preferred, but not required.
Knowledge of DCBS or DCC policies and/or ChildCare or Human Services policy background is a plus.
Primary Responsibilities Include (But Not Limited To):
· Writing test plans and testing critical eligibility applications
· Participating in JAD discussions and reviewing design documents to understand the testing requirements
· Working with OATS Business Analysts as well as System Vendor staff to review and select test cases compiled by the system vendor
· Compiling knowledge of Childcare Assistance Program (CCAP), Medicaid, Kentucky Transitional Assistance Program (KTAP), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) policies, and applying this knowledge to complete thorough system testing
· Documenting defects and collaborating with a team to ensure fixes have been applied correctly
· Completing smoke testing and providing support after major production releases, as needed
Required Qualifications:
· 2+ years of relevant experience and Bachelors degree in related field, or equivalent combination of recent, relevant work experience.
· Proficient in Microsoft Product Suites (Word, Excel, and Visio).
· Experience defining business needs, gathering and documenting requirements, determining business solutions, and verifying solutions meet requirements.
· Ability to handle extreme workloads with general direction.
· Relationship management and facilitation skills.
· Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Proficient problem-solving skills.
· Strong decision-making ability.
· Must be adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment.
· Must be detail oriented.
· Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and in conjunction with team members.
· Maintaining confidentiality and exercise discretion is essential.
· Must be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
· Must be able to maintain detailed documentation in an organized and proficient manner.
Preferred Qualifications (But Not Required):
· 1 year of SQL experience
· CCAP program/policy knowledge
· Kentucky Integrated Child Care System (KICCS) knowledge
