Wells Fargo is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join our Foundational Hosting Platform (FHP) team in our Manassas, Virginia Data Center where you will design, build, enhance, and integrate the technology infrastructure required to support various portfolios. As an Infrastructure Engineer in the Data Center, you will complete the physical implementation and troubleshooting for the components of the hosting environment’s physical layer. You will build and support Layer 1 and hardware with core responsibilities in the areas of power, space, cooling and connectivity. You will increase your skills and develop your career under the guidance of Senior Infrastructure Engineers. You will make an impact by ensuring site integrity and systems availability through the enforcement of corporate security and governance policies, information processing facility specifications, technology standards, processes, and disciplines.
In this role, you will:
Support initiatives that deliver workable end to end infrastructure solutions
Participate in test planning and execution
Communicate with end users to provide timely and accurate information and status updates
Design, build, enhance and integrate the infrastructure required to support various platforms and our business portfolio
Troubleshoot and resolve first level network and wireless issues
Present recommendations for resolving ticket requests, and exercise some independent judgment while developing understanding of the process, policies and risk controls
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Interact with internal customers
Required Qualifications:
2+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
1+ year of data center experience including Layer 1 infrastructure deployments
Desired Qualifications:
Experience supporting technology at an enterprise level
Ability to interact effectively at varying levels of the business and technical organizations
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Proficiency with server, storage, mainframe, and network hardware
Strong risk management experience in critical environments
Precise attention to detail and strong organization skills
Job Expectations:
Willingness to work 100% on-site at stated location on the job opening
Work hours operate in a 3x12 (week 1) and 4x12 (week 2) rotating shift - 7 am to 7 pm
Flexibility to work in a 24/7 environment, including weekends and holidays
Must be able to lift 50+ pounds
