Job Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic and multi-talented Senior Software Test Engineer to contribute to the software testing effort of our product platform and can become a product domain expert. You’ll need an analytical mind, can observe and process data, troubleshoot and diagnose problems. You can see the BIG picture of the customer experience and can align that with customer satisfaction. We work with MacOS, Linux, Go, python, pytest, Java, Selenium, Postman, Javascript (React.js, Angular, jquery), CSS, MySql, Postgres, MongoDB,
Elastic Search, Large Language Models (LLM), AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, SumoLogic, Tableau, SAML, REST, jMeter, Jenkins, Jira, Git, GitHub, Confluence, JSON, qTest, browsers and more…

Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Participates in interviews for new hires
• Often represents a team in cross-team projects
• Mentors more junior Software Test Engineers with advice and code reviews
• Authors training documentation

Duties/Responsibilities/Primary Function:
• Be a strong quality advocate, work in an agile software development environment, collaborate closely with software engineers, designers, and product managers to analyze requirements specifications and discuss software design and testability to ensure we deliver high quality software
• Understand how all elements of the application technology stack work together, evaluate functional and design specifications and develop testing approaches and strategies that fit the overall quality objectives
• Guide Product Testing best practices with an overall System perspective and System mindset
• Takes on large testing efforts, writes test plan or test cases for user stories, independently
• Prepares complex data sets to test logic, error handling and system workflows
• Isolates, reproduces, and tracks defects
• Verifies Code Changes/Fixes
• Contributes to improvement of the test plan/ approach towards improved maintainability, testability
• Writes some of the simpler test designs, contributes feedback on test designs
• Provides constructive feedback in test case and/or code reviews
• Identify test cases that should be automated, write and groom them
• Identify testing gaps for test automation and regression
• Can develop (code, debug, test) test automation code for a small/ mid-sized story
• Design and develop robust test automation class libraries for UI, integrations, and API layers of the application stack
• Maintain automated regression suites/packages to be compliant with changing requirements and features
• Promote culture of test automation by exploring and identifying test automaton opportunities at all layers (unit, integration, UI) of the application stack
• Takes on large code changes independently
• Participates in test framework discussions; advocates for improvement in framework/tooling
• Suggests continuous process improvements

Required Skills/Abilities/Profile:
• Solid experience in the software development life cycle utilizing agile methods
• Solid experience with software quality assurance methodologies
• Proficient working with cloud technologies
• Proficient in testing web applications
• Experience testing software products/projects that use Machine Learning
• Experience with open-source tools
• Experience with test automation tooling for functional and performance/load testing
• Experience with manual testing: proficient with testing web applications on a variety of browsers from IE to Safari, to FireFox, to Chrome, to Edge
• Experience with exploratory testing
• Has a test automation mindset, i.e., prioritizes a test automation approach first
• Experience with automated acceptance testing, page object pattern design and behavior driven development
• Demonstrated automated GUI testing experience with Selenium, Cypress, Puppeteer, etc.
• Improve and expand test automation framework/tools/libraries to support test management and test methodology
• Experience working with and on a distributed team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong knowledge of CS fundamentals (data structures, object oriented programming, algorithms)
• Proficient in a Macintosh or Linux environment
• Very proficient in Python or Go or Java
• Experience working with Docker and/or Kubernetes
• Familiarity with JavaScript / TypeScript / React
• Experience with database interaction, e.g., MongoDB and SQL
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins etc.)
• Experience testing in a cloud-based SaaS infrastructure
• Experience with Git and GitHub
• Experience testing REST APIs
• Inherent willingness to be a total team player, i.e., do what it takes for the team to succeed and achieve
• Willing to challenge the status quo to implement improvements
Education and Experience:
• Master/Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent is required
• Typically, 6-8 years of related experience required

Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of working on a computer of up to 8 hours per day
• Must be able and willing to travel. (Team meet ups)
