What You'll Get To Do:
• People leadership for a Minuteman III ICBM Sustainment mechanical engineering organization, to include performance management, career development, staffing, and merit planning.
• Provide project and technical oversight for activities performed by the group.
• Provide ownership of and direction to the processes used by the group.
• Create a vision for an engineering team and work to make that vision a reality.
• Provide proposal inputs and review proposal content for both internal and external customers.
• Support department initiatives, recruiting, technology roadmap creation, cross-campus/sector involvement, and NCTA project leadership.
• Lead a diverse team of engineers performing project development, technical requirements review, system support, planning and sustainment for a diverse set of products in the missile, air and space domains.
• Responsible for the strategic implementation of skills and labor mix; employee development; mentoring; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
• Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant technical matters requiring coordination between organizations to ensure successful task completion and customer satisfaction.
• Responsibilities also include horizontal integration of best practices across the organization; maintaining cognizance over technical activities; and ensuring execution of project statement of work and baselines.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Job Qualifications:
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) with 6 years of experience; or Master's degree with 4 years of experience; or PhD with 2 years of experience.
• At least 1 year leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
• Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance.
• 3 years of hands-on experience supporting modernization, maintenance, design and analysis of mechanical systems.
• 3 years of ICBM Sustainment experience.
• 1 year of experience providing technical leadership of an engineering team.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
• Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope.
• STEM - Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline from ABET-Accredited university program.
• 5 years of ICBM experience.
• 7 years' hands-on experience supporting modernization of ICBM infrastructure including aerospace vehicle ground Systems/subsystem and ground support equipment design and analysis.
• More than 3 years of experience providing technical leadership of an engineering team.
• Thorough knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ASME and MIL-STDs).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer focused mindset.
• Fun, outgoing personality with ideas on how to engage an engineering team.

Salary Range: $122,800 - $184,200
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
