Primary Role Function: 
This role is a technical writer that can work closely with engineers, or review transcripts of conversations with engineers, and convert those to troubleshooting guides or other relevant knowledge base articles. The role will consist of 30% collaborating with software engineers and other technical team members, 30% ensuring all documentation is accurate up to date, 30% reviewing and editing existing documentation and then 10% meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with software engineers and other technical team members to gather information and develop clear and concise troubleshooting guides.
• Create and maintain various self-service documentation, including FAQs, how-to guides, and knowledge base articles.
• Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with company standards and best practices.
• Review and edit existing documentation to enhance clarity, consistency, and overall quality.
• Work closely with the support team to identify common issues and create documentation to address these problems proactively.
• Use technical knowledge to translate complex technical concepts into easily understandable content for various audiences.
• Conduct research and interviews to gather information from subject matter experts.
• Participate in peer reviews and provide constructive feedback to colleagues.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements to continuously improve documentation quality.

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in a software development environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely.
• Proficiency in using documentation tools and software
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communication, Computer Science, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of programming languages and software engineering concepts.
• Experience creating multimedia content, such as video tutorials or infographics.
• Prior experience in developing documentation for customer support

• Minimum 2 year experience with text-based markup languages
• Minimum 2 years of experience with spreadsheet software
• Minimum 2 years of experience with word processing software

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $46 to $53 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
