Who will you be working with?
The Manufacturing Engineer coordinates with the cross-functional team to drive execution on projects related to standardization, customer requirements, automation/innovation, product cost and delivery across the UX combo remanufacturing facilities.
How will you make a difference?
- Lead efforts to drive standardization across UX combo facilities specifically focused on SOP’s, customer work scopes, processes, tooling, and future automation/innovation investments. Work cross-functionally with local quality, operations, UX variance, lean, and shop support functions to create strategy, align resources, and execute.
- Be responsible for execution of the following directly or in coordination with other functions: SOP updates, equipment, tooling and gauging specification development and implementation, BOM/MES updates, new work scope implementation, time studies, data collection, PPAP support, and operator training.
- Coordinate with automation engineers/team to develop technological solutions to drive innovation into UX combo remanufacturing process. Create multi-year investment plans aligned with overall vision and strategy.
- Assess proposed commercial / NPI opportunities for process, tooling, capacity, and facility gaps. Communicate and work with cross functional team to drive closure on each items including owning a portion of the actions.
- Identify opportunities for improvement through observation, benchmarking, and cross functional activities across EHS, reliability, quality, and delivery.
What do we want to know about you?
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university or an associate’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of time.
Desired Characteristics
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- Prior experience with UX or repair operations, augmentation/automation, large project management, and strategy development.
- Strong knowledge of product structures, bills of material, and MES system.
- Demonstarted ability to operate in multiple modes: shop floor hands on, tactical project execution, and strategy development.
- Self-starter; takes the initiative to identify and implement new ideas
- Adds positive presence to team and culture
- Strong Project Management skills
- Excellent written / oral communication skills, influencing and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical / problem solving skills
- Ability to work with a variety of teams including both the shop floor and salary exempt personnel

- Identify gaps in tooling, equipment, processes, or materials
- Drive solutions to close gaps prior to established due dates
- Manage new process development
- New SOP Development or Revisions
- Gage Development and Validation
- Design of Fixtures and Tools
- Oversite of Equipment Installation
- Operator Training on Workscope Details
- Data Collection for PPAP Completion
- Time Studies
- BOM update requests
- Manage business approvals and purchasing of capital expense funds for tooling and equipment
- System Improvements
- Support tooling development, automated data collection & resolution improvements

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between
$89,100.00-$126,900.00The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com. Other benefit offerings for this role may include an annual bonus, if eligible.
