Software Engineer – Network AI & Agentic Automation

Location: Chandler, Arizona (Hybrid)

Role Overview

This role is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements that support business goals across Network AI and Agentic Transformation. Key responsibilities include building and testing software solutions for AI agent use-cases and deterministic automation, ensuring they meet functional, non-functional, and compliance standards. The position requires flexibility to work across both Engineering Delivery and Deterministic Automation Orchestration pillars as demand shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to story refinement and requirements definition for AI agent use-cases, orchestration workflows, and deterministic automation.
  • Code solutions and unit tests to deliver requirements in accordance with acceptance criteria and engineering standards.
  • Build and enhance components that support AI-enabled workflows, agent interactions, and deterministic automation routines.
  • Utilize multiple architectural components across data, application, workflow, and automation layers.
  • Assist the team with resolving technical complexities, including integration, orchestration, and runtime issues.
  • Contribute to existing test suites, analyze test results, and help remediate defects.
  • Document and communicate required information for deployment, maintenance, and support.
  • Participate in delivery and release events, including branching, pull requests, and implementation support.
  • Support secure and observable solution delivery by implementing appropriate logging, error handling, and operational controls.
Required Qualifications

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
  • Experience developing software or automation solutions that translate business requirements into technical capabilities.
  • Experience building API-based integrations, service interactions, and reusable components.
  • Experience on a team of software engineers that design and develop web-based software solutions and automation.
  • Familiarity with workflow orchestration and automation execution patterns.
  • Experience delivering unit, integration, regression, or automated tests.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong programming and scripting skills in languages such as Python, JavaScript, Go, Java, and Bash.
  • Expertise in Django, Flask, and FastAPI frameworks, with knowledge of multiprocessing and multithreading.
  • Experience with front-end development frameworks like React, VUE, or Angular.
  • Skilled in developing solutions for network-defined automation and/or cloud IT solutions, including CLI and API development.
  • Integration experience with network and security products (e.g., Checkpoint & Fortinet firewalls, McAfee proxies, TippingPoint IDS).
  • Deep understanding of data structures and object-oriented programming principles.
  • Experience with relational databases like SQLite and MySQL, including data modeling and query optimization.
  • Proficiency in executing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and delivering automated software testing.
  • Experience with F5 (iControl REST), AVI/NSX ALB APIs, NSX/cloud provider SDKs, on-prem (VMware VCF/NSX), and public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle).
  • Understanding of IT standards, controls, and application security development.
